“Given the diverse geography of Coconino County, how does climate change affect the distribution of vectors in Coconino County and the potential for the spread of pathogens such as Hantavirus, West Nile virus, Zika, and Dengue?”

As part of a joint research project between the EPA, Coconino County and the Combrink Lab at the University of Arizona, I am leading projects applying ecological niche and simulation models to forecast zoonotic diseases in Coconino County. The project will incorporate aspects of mosquito biology and transmission dynamics into the HexSim model platform to inform management for improving human health.
